A mobile app for booking, communicating and organising medical examinations with a simple tap. These are the main features of DoctorApp, an application that makes it easier to make reservations at the doctor and allows you to regulate the influx of patients into clinics and waiting rooms. A young and innovative project, conceived by the DoctorApp team with the technical support of Weconstudio.
DoctorApp is a Cuneo-based startup, founded between 2017 and 2018 by Alessandro Giraudo, Francesco Albanese and Alex Luciano, CEO, CMO and CTO respectively. It is a cutting-edge company designed to facilitate bookings and communications between the treating doctor and his patients. The project responds to three main needs, daughters of contemporaneity and the digital revolution:
DoctorApp is a mobile app designed and developed for general practitioners, but customizable for the needs of clinics and specialists. An ambitious project that takes into account even those who are not familiar with the technology. In fact, totems have been placed inside the doctors’ offices to issue tickets with booking data.
The first hurdle that the three DoctorApp creators had to overcome was undoubtedly mistrust. Italians are rather traditionalist and hardly ever experience anything new, especially if these actions have to do with health and privacy. Despite the initial skepticism, however, the immediacy and simplicity of this application managed to win the hearts of users.
The simple and intuitive architecture of the system, combined with the younger segment of users who are more prepared to book online, has encouraged the success of the application. In just a few months the project has reached important numbers: 7,500 downloads for Android and about as many for IOS. To date, DoctorApp has reached over 10,000 patients and more than 100 doctors. These results have been growing during the quarantine period for Covid-19. During that period, communications between patient and doctor were almost exclusively remote by necessity.
The creation of DoctorApp was entrusted to Weconstudio, which designed, built and put the system into production. The application was created starting from the specifications shared with the DoctorApp team and the experience the latter had gained with a previous MVP (Minimum Viable Product). Weconstudio has set up a multi-tier architecture based on API middleware and message queue RabbitMQ.

Weconstudio has an important background in e-ticketing and online booking. The realization of DoctorApp is one of the most complex and complete “modern” systems that the company has ever realized. From a technical and technological point of view, the synthesis operation implemented is very sophisticated.
At the end of the design and production of the system, Weconstudio took care of the maintenance of the application and the daily support to the customer, in order to satisfy his business needs. Collaboration between the two realities is on the agenda, especially as regards the management of the evolutions foreseen by the project roadmap.
Weconstudio creates customized solutions in line with the customer’s needs. The development strategies proposed are designed ad hoc and allow to optimize the organization of activities through innovative and advanced systems.
